La’Bergitla Driver Development Programme

Become a professional driver with Automobili La’Bergitla — from first laps to 24-hour electric endurance

What it is. A structured, in-house pathway that turns committed drivers into race-ready professionals for the Automobili La’Bergitla Endurance Series. You’ll train on our platforms, follow our safety and technical standards, and graduate with the credentials to apply for a La’Bergitla Driver’s Licence (Levels A–C).

Pathways (mapped to Licence Levels)

  • Rookie / Development (Level C)
For talented newcomers and sim-to-real candidates. Focus on fundamentals, HV safety, procedures, and racecraft.

  • Pro-Am / National (Level B)
For experienced club/national drivers or test/reserve talent. Emphasis on strategy, stint management and technical feedback.

  • Professional Endurance (Level A)
For international-calibre drivers targeting factory or top-class seats. Intensive multi-stint, night running, and leadership modules.

What you’ll learn (core curriculum)

  • HV & Electrical Safety — isolation, emergency shutdown, PPE, pit-lane protocols.

  • Vehicle & Systems — RESS/BMS, energy deployment, brake-by-wire, control software and dashboards.

  • Racecraft for Endurance — stint planning, traffic management, tyre/energy conservation, night running.

  • Procedures & Regulations — FCY/SC, penalties, race control comms, pit entry/exit discipline.

  • Data & Feedback — telemetry basics, driver debriefs, correlation with simulator/HIL.

  • Performance & Resilience — fitness, heat/cold stress, fatigue management, teamwork and leadership.

Training format

  • Simulator & HIL sessions — system familiarisation, procedures, and scenario drills.

  • On-track coaching — progressive pace building, long-run consistency, and incident drills (wet/night where available).

  • Workshops — strategy, engineering communication, and regulations.

  • Assessments — written test + on-track evaluation aligned with licence requirements.

Certification & Licensing

Graduation from your pathway includes the mandatory training and certification test required to apply for a La’Bergitla Driver’s Licence (A–C). External credentials (e.g., FIA/ACO) may support your application, but a La’Bergitla licence is mandatory for our Series.

Track time & equipment

  • Programme cars aligned to our Technical Regulations (prototype/GT-E training spec).

  • Night-running and long-stint blocks to replicate 24-hour demands.

  • Professional engineering support, data acquisition, and safety crews.

Who it’s for

  • Rising talents from karts, club series, or sims.

  • National drivers moving to electric endurance.

  • Test/reserve drivers stepping into race seats.

  • Professionals targeting factory programmes.

Entry requirements

  • Minimum age and medical fitness suitable for motorsport.

Obtaining Your La’Bergitla Driver’s Licence

No licence yet? No problem. Follow these steps to join the Automobili La’Bergitla Endurance Series pathway and get on track.

Step 1 — Book a Licence Readiness Assessment (LRA)

Schedule your La’Bergitla Licence Readiness Assessment with our Driver Development team. The LRA includes simulator/HIL drills, procedural briefings (HV safety, pit operations), and an on-track evaluation (where applicable). You’ll receive a written report with a recommended pathway (Level A / B / C).
Assessment fee: £650 inc. VAT.

Step 2 — Build Seat Time (if required)

If the LRA highlights gaps, we’ll tailor a programme to close them:

  • Coached simulator and on-track sessions

  • Endurance procedure drills (night running, FCY/SC)

  • Approved track days and data-led coaching

Step 3 — Medical Examination

Obtain a motorsport medical from a licensed physician (valid within the last 12 months). Medical clearance is required before licence activation.

Step 4 — Mandatory Training

Complete the La’Bergitla Driver Training modules:

  • High-Voltage & Electrical Safety

  • Vehicle Systems & BMS/energy management

  • Sporting Regulations & Race Procedures

  • Endurance fitness, fatigue management, and driver-change protocols

Step 5 — Driver Certification Test

Sit the written + practical test covering safety, systems and sporting procedures.

  • Test fee (per attempt): £651

  • If you do not pass, re-sit is available under our failure/retest policy (re-test fee applies).

Step 6 — Apply for Your Licence

Submit your application via the La’Bergitla licensing portal with:

  • LRA report and training certificates

  • Medical certificate

  • Motorsport CV and any external credentials (FIA/ACO/ASN) as supporting evidence

  • Payment of the annual licence fee for your level

Annual Driver Licence fees (GBP):

  • Level A: £8,157 base + £1,649 per championship point

  • Level B: £6,248 flat

  • Level C: £4,686 flat

Step 7 — Issuance & Next Steps

On approval, you’ll receive your La’Bergitla Driver’s Licence (digital card) and start-of-season briefing schedule. The Series penalty-points system applies; licences are valid for the calendar year and require annual renewal (including medical and any mandated refreshers).

Note: External licences can support your application, but a La’Bergitla licence is mandatory to compete in the Automobili La’Bergitla Endurance Series.
